Having passed through the beautiful green valley of the Planquette, where the river of the same name has its source, one arrives in Fressin and can immediately appreciate the floral displays which have been planted by the Village Council and those living in the village. Thanks to their efforts, Fressin has received the 'three flowers' award from the National Committee for Villages in Bloom, thus making the village an even more pleasant and agreeable place to spend some time.

There is also a large number of other Associations in the village showing just how dynamic it is : as well as a 'foyer rural' there are also various interest groups: for music, theatre, football, fire brigade, hunters, a national heritage group - 'les Amis du Patrimoine', an old people's club, a veterans' association and, of course, the association connected to the Château of Fressin.

Fressin is also a place where we are reminded of Georges Bernanos, as it was here that he received, in large part the inspiration to write his book 'Under Satan's Sun' (Sous le Soleil de Satan). In it, he describes the superb Church built in the flamboyant style of the 15th century and which is now a listed historic building.
The dovecote is the only part of the author's house which still remains today, and it is situated in the street which bears his name. But you can still see all around, the magnificent countryside which he loved so much.
